A client once told me their lead numbers looked great. Then I saw the logbook.
I've audited enough multi-location follow-ups since then to stop being surprised by what I find. It's never one big leak. It's always the same handful of small ones, showing up in a different order depending on the business.

What The Dashboard Doesn't Show.
The dashboard shows volume. The logbook shows what actually happened to each lead after it came in. Those are two very different pictures.
Here's what I find every time. Not sometimes. Each time.
- Wrong location gets the lead.
- Someone marks "contacted" but nobody checked if that was true.
- Two people think someone has it and nobody has it.
- The same message goes to every lead regardless of what they actually asked for.
None of it looks like a crisis from the inside. It just looks like a normal week until someone adds it up.
The fix isn't a new CRM or bigger team. It's looking at what's actually happening between the lead coming in and the follow-up going out. Most operators have never done that audit. They trust the dashboard. The dashboard only shows what's logged.
If your numbers look fine but something still feels off, go look at the actual follow-up and not the report.
